Case study: Wellesley Road, Croydon


Collaborative working relationships with Croydon Council and TFL assisted the project team to deliver on time. This professional partnership began at an early project stage and was essential to succesful delivery. New pedestrian crossing, now allows free flowing traffic and significantly reduces congestion on a major town road. Cluttered road barriers were successfully removed to enhance the image of the new highway.

Case study: Portsmouth Road, Kingston, KT1


The Portsmouth Road project was part of “Go Cycle” and involves improvements to the road linking Surbiton and Kingston. A two-way cycle lane separates cyclists from motorized traffic, with new green man pedestrian crossings and a revitalized riverfront area are now complete and being enjoyed by the general public.

Case study: HGV Safety Features


Cappagh has one of the largest fleets of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV) in the southeast of England. We currently operate 115 HGVs, made up of fifty 32 Tonne Tipper Lorries, thirty 32 Tonne Tipper Grab Lorries and thirty-five 7.5 Tonne Tipper Lorries. This large fleet provides support to our civil engineering and utility contracting works and allows us to provide construction waste muckaway and recycled aggregate delivery services for hundreds of clients. Many of the vehicles travel in the Capital every day on London’s busiest streets.

Case study: SSF Bed Contract


For an initial duration of 3 years with options to extend annually to a maximum term of 5 years.

Thames Water is responsible for the public water supply of millions of customers in London and the Thames Valley. A large percentage of that drinking water supply is provided through filtration processes, namely Slow Sand Filtration (SSF).

Case study: Epsom Race Course


Cappagh was contracted by Thames Water Utilities Limited to replace 32 metres of poor condition 300mm diameter PVC water main in an important part of its potable water network. The site location in south west London crossed the grass track of the famous race course at Epsom Downs.
Cappagh installed 32 metres of 355mm diameter (14 Inch) MDPE water main at a depth of 2 metres, bedded on Cappagh’s own recycled pea shingle. The new main pipes were butt fusion welded together and then winched into place to avoid fouling the existing electrical services which crossed the excavation at various points.
