Recycled Aggregates

Cappagh is committed to sustainable construction and has been at the forefront of recycling construction and demolition waste for many years.  We have invested in modern machinery to produce a wide range of recycled aggregate products for our clients.

We operate from recycling facilities in London, inside and outside of the M25, providing highly competitive prices for the following products:

Recycled Material Description
75mm, 20/40mm, 10/20mm, 4/10mm Single Size
Aggregate produced to single size grade by passing via two screens. Used for drainage backfill and surface dressings.
SHW Type 1 Crushed Concrete
Crushed Concrete meets the requirement of the Department of Transport Specification for Highway Works, Clause 803. The "SHW". Used as a high quality fill or sub-base material.
SHW Type 2 Crushed Concrete
Crushed Concrete meets the requirement of the Department of Transport Specification for Highway Works, Clause 803. The "SHW". Used as a sub-base material where a lesser strength material is adequate.
6F2/6F5 Crushed Concrete Selected coarse grade material used for capping. Grading of 125mm to dust.
R6F1 Concrete fines Selected graded material used for capping and ground in-fill. Grading of 25mm to dust.
Road Planings/Scalpings Former tarmac road surface removed with a milling machine. Used for hard standings, haulage roads, building sub-bases, sub-bases and farm tracks.
40mm Reject stone A re-screened material generally used for soakaways, in-fill and landscaping purposes.
6C Selected material, generally graded from 100mm to 40mm without fines for use in unstable and wet conditions, as a starter layer and bunds/embankments.
10mm Shingle Produced from crushed concrete and reclaimed gravel. Once crushed, the product is then screened to remove dust and fines creating a high quality aggregate. Used for pipe bedding and drainage.
20mm Shingle
Produced from crushed concrete and reclaimed gravel. Once crushed, the product is then screened to remove dust and fines creating a high quality aggregate. Used for pipe bedding and drainage.
20mm Ballast
Ballast is a mixture of Sharp Sand and 20mm gravel. Used for concrete mixes and widely recognised in both construction industry and domestic applications.
Sharp Sand Graded 4mm to dust. Used for concrete mixes and screening.
Reject Sand Reclaimed and screened sand derived from a variety of construction projects. Graded 5mm to dust. Used for utility pipe and cable surround.
Topsoil Used for landscaping, flower planting, tree planting, shrub planting.

All products produced by Cappagh are rigorously quality controlled and recycled to BS/EN conformity and the WRAP Quality Protocol.  Cappagh uses UKAS accredited testing laboratories to provide further, independent testing of its products.  We operate a comprehensive management system which adopts the standards of BS EN ISO 9001:2008, the WRAP Quality Protocol and BS EN 13285 (Factory Production Control) to ensure consistent, quality products.

Selected Case Study

Collaborative working relationships with Croydon Council and TFL assisted the project team to deliver on time. This professional partnership began at an early project stage and was essential to succesful delivery. New pedestrian crossing, now allows free flowing traffic and significantly reduces congestion on a major town road. Cluttered road barriers were successfully removed to enhance the image of the new highway.
