Transport & Plant Services

Cappagh’s strategy has been to invest heavily in owned transport and plant.  This philosophy was born by the Company owner and has continued throughout the 40 year history of Cappagh.

Transport

Today we own, manage, operate and maintain a fleet of more than 80 vehicles.  These vehicles consist of HGV Tippers, HGV Grab Lorries, HGV Tankers, Road Sweepers, Volumetric Concrete Lorries, HGV Roll-on Roll-off Lorries, HGV Beavertails, HGV Articulated Lorries, HGV Mobile Hotboxes and Skip Lorries.  The fleet is used to support our own contracts and to also provide services to main contractors, private clients, utility companies, developers and building contractors.

The fleet is modern and is subject to a rolling replacement programme.  The fleet complies with the current Euro IV emissions standard as a minimum.  We are currently procuring vehicles which exceed this standard and comply with Euro V.  This is in accordance with our carbon reduction strategy, more of which can be read by clicking here.

Our centralised transport office, which is located in Cappagh’s Head Office at Wimbledon, uses state of the art vehicle tracking and management systems to maximise efficiency and provide a first class service to our clients.

The Company employs its own technicians and fitters who use the extensive facilities to regularly service and maintain vehicles as well as carry out ad hoc repairs.  A mobile tyre repair/replacement service and mobile technicians also ensure that we can keep our vehicles on the road.  The fleet is kept in good condition and thus guarantees we can provide the best possible service to our clients.

Plant

Cappagh has invested significantly in ensuring that it has its own, comprehensive, range of modern plant, capable of servicing both “in house” work streams and for external hire to our construction industry clients.  We have comprehensively equipped workshops, qualified technicians and fully competent plant operators, backed with industry recognised accreditation.
