Innovative Permafyx Solution Puts Cappagh in the Awards Spotlight
Shortlisted for Net Zero Project of the Year and Product of the Year
Cappagh's pioneering work to transform ironwork reinstatement has been recognised at two prestigious industry awards, following the successful trial of Permafyx — a cold lay flowable solution that replaces traditional hot tarmac around ironworks.
The company was shortlisted for Net Zero Project of the Year by LCRIG at its Strictly Highways 2025 event and also for Product of the Year at the Highways Awards 2025. Permafyx has been used on around 200 installations across London and has been hailed as a major step forward for safety, sustainability and efficiency.
The innovation removes the need for hot tarmac and its associated risks, while also improving road safety by allowing roads to be re-opened more quickly. Crews spend less time in work zones, with site time reduced by up to 33%. Cappagh has worked closely with supply chain partner Meon to develop and refine the material.
