With over a decade of experience working landside and airside at London Heathrow, one of the world’s busiest airports, we offer a comprehensive and flexible approach to working with our clients in helping them achieve and exceed their expectations. Airports are unique environments and require a special approach for engineering and construction activity. We have multi-disciplined capabilities, providing services including the construction of new stands and taxi-ways, breakout and recycling of existing pavements, large earthworks, demolition, haulage and provision of recycled aggregates, civil engineering and main drainage work.

At Cappagh, we are accomplished at working in such a highly pressurised environment where there are strict security pressures, tight tolerances and design specification, programme challenges and operational constraints. We work in critical operational areas of the airfield and in compliance with EASA aerodrome licensing and Airside Project Works Instructions. We consider runway alternation patterns when developing a plan of works.

We were instrumental in the successful delivery of Heathrow’s runway rehabilitation programme, which included the refurbishment of the southern runway plus the construction of three new rapid exit taxiways (RET). Cappagh were contracted by Morgan Sindall to carry out the concrete break out, earthworks and full construction of the RET works.
