Sustainable Construction

Cappagh is committed to sustainable construction and has been at the forefront of recycling construction and demolition waste for many years.  We have invested in state-of-the-art machinery to produce a wide range of recycled aggregates for our clients.  We generate and supply in excess of 800,000 tons of per annum. 

Our modern vehicle fleet serve London and the Home Counties with deliveries ranging from 1 ton to 100,000 ton.  We supply varying project scopes spanning from high profile schemes such as smart motorway expansions and airport runway rehabilitation to smaller tonnage for local builders and DIY enthusiasts.

Primary Aggregates

Cappagh produce and supply primary sand and gravel aggregates from our washing facility at Heathrow.  We also have the capability to import limestone and granite materials from the Midlands and the Mendips.

We operate from recycling facilities in London, inside and outside of the M25, providing highly competitive prices for the following products:

Recycled Aggregates

Sub-base Aggregates

DOT Type 1/DOT Type 2 – Our material is fully CL803 compliant, used for sub-base preparation of roads and pathways and is non-frost susceptible.

DOT Type 3 – Sub-base material similar to Type 1 in terms of grading and size, though with slightly less fines content.  Widely used in sports pitches, tennis courts and where road/path construction requires a greater level of drainage.

Capping Aggregates

6F4 Recycled (previously 6F1) – 63mm to dust, well graded granular material.

6F5 Recycled (previously 6F2) – 125mm to dust, well graded granular material – commonly used as a starter layer for road/path construction, pile mats, crane platforms, temporary haul roads and hard standing areas.

Pipe Bedding/Drainage Aggregates

10-4mm Gravel/20-10mm Gravel/40-20mm Gravel – Various sizes of free draining aggregate used for pipe bedding and drainage schemes.

75-40mm Gravel – Larger drainage material commonly used for soakaways.

Type A/Type B – Highways specification compliant. Filter media.

Concreting Aggregates

Sharp Sand – Graded 4mm to dust. Used for concrete mixes and screening.

20mm Ballast –  mixture of Sharp Sand and 20mm gravel. Used for concrete mixes and widely recognised in both construction industry and domestic applications.

CAPPAVE Aggregates

63-10mm CAPPAVE Fully compliant drainage aggregate used for permeable paving and commonly used in SUDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems).  A 100% recycled drainage solution as an alternative to primary aggregates.

Soils

Screened Only – Used for general landscaping purposes.

BS3882 – British Standard certified topsoil suitable for residential use.

Root Zone – Sand and soil mix, free draining. Encourages root growth.

AMP6 Infrastructure Term Service Contract
