As such Cappagh are proud and delighted to have instigated a Health and Safety program 2022 in our Portsmouth Water contract that not only recognises but also rewards the positive impact of a Safety-First culture. Each month an individual winner is identified for their positive contributions and once a year a panel of directors and Health and Safety professionals will assess the 12 winners to award an overall prize and certificate of achievement.
This year that award went to Mark Tomlin, the recipient of 2 monthly awards during 2022 but judged to be the overall winner of the 2022 Group Directors Award for his fast thinking and response when he saw an elderly lady have an accident involving her mobility scooter. Mark witnessed this and rushed to her aid, administering first aid, and alerting the emergency services who later confirmed that Marks actions had indeed saved the woman’s life. Mark has now received a permanent engraved reminder of this award as well as financial reward for literally brining life to our safety-first values.
