Mammoth project approaches successful completion

Mammoth project approaches successful completion

Work to replace 2 rising mains at Sandwich in Kent for Southern Water is nearing completion. The twin mains, 450mm and 500mm in diameter, needed sections replaced under the River Stour to repair a burst and provide future resilience and then re-connection. The entire project, which has taken 6 months, involved directional drilling and deep excavation management.  The estimated value is £1.5M.

The project was a collaboration between Cappagh, Allen Watson, and Cappagh Browne Utilities on behalf of the client, Southern Water.
